Premium sunglasses transformed from discarded fishing nets.
CHALLENGE
Bureo is on a mission to cleanse the ocean of discarded fishing nets by collecting and transforming them into quality products with endless recyclability. Lifestyledesign accepted the challenge to create a line of premium sunglasses from this recycled material.
APPROACH
The basic recycled material was challenging given its innate color and texture. To mitigate these inherit limitations, bold linear textural elements were utilized to create attractive dimensional details in the frames. A custom metal insignia contrasts and complements the visual impact of this very textural material.
RESULTS
A seemingly undesirable recycled material was successfully re-purposed into premium sunglasses that are both a fashionable and an environmentally aware statement; another step in the global drive toward sustainability.
