Magnetic Phone Charging Mount
Lifestyledesign worked with Scosche to create this definitive line of premium phone charging mounts. Each version of the mount combines the simplicity of magnetic phone attachment with the convenience of fast Qi wireless charging.
CHALLENGE
Create a unique design language for the product line that integrates and expands the Scosche Magic Mount design DNA. Then, develop a method to combine the magnetic phone attachment feature with Qi wireless charging. And finally, develop a variety of options for attaching the mount inside a vehicle.
APPROACH
Following an in-depth market analysis, Lifestyledesign developed an innovation program to roadmap the development of a comprehensive line of premium phone mounts. The design strategy focused on creating a unique, recognizable visual presence for the entire line, as well as for each version of the mount, that optimized options for attachment of the phone mount within a vehicle.
RESULTS
Key elements of the design solution include: A proprietary solution to combine the magnetic attachment and the QI charging coil, a coherent, a sophisticated design language including a consistent CMF utilization across the product line, and innovative design solutions for the individual products.

PRODUCT LINE
We developed a line of automotive phone mounts that are based on a unique Qi charging head which is compatible with all four of the mounting bases. This was fundamental in unifying the family look of the product line. It also provided significant savings in tooling and manufacturing costs.
