Pelican partnered with Lifestyledesign to rejuvenate, redefine and expand the market bandwidth and segmentation of their line of micro-cases, and to further evolve their existing industrial design language.
CHALLENGE
The primary development goals were premium feel, functional flexibility and technical superiority presented with highly engaging design to enhance 21st century lifestyles. A key goal was to broaden the user appeal of the micro-case line by identifying a variety of specialized uses and diverse environments, from rugged outdoors to stylish, everyday-carry variations.
APPROACH
Beginning with an in-depth analysis of the current market for personal gear management, LSD went wide to discover areas of untapped potential. Broadening the scope of user appeal for micro-cases was fundamental, as was working closely with Pelican’s engineers to create the most durable personal protective case possible.
RESULTS
The Result was the creation of the Ruck case and the Go Case. Each was designed to target a different user segment substantially broadening the potential customer base and bringing innovation and new excitement to this powerful 40 year old brand.
